The Pinke Center for Eye Health

Is a modern and bright, wheelchair accessible medical office. Many eye ailments are treated right in our office using state-of-the-art technology. From thorough eye exams to prescription eye medications to minor surgery to laser techniques, it’s all here under the watchful eye of James R. Pinke, M.D.

Most cataract, glaucoma and major cosmetic

And non cosmetic eyelid surgery is performed at The Connecticut Eye Surgery Center South. This new surgical center is dedicated exclusively to eye surgery, using the most modern microsurgical equipment available, all in a warm and caring environment. Most procedures do not require a pre-operative physical examination, blood work, cardiogram or X-rays. Door to  door transportation to and from the Surgery Center is available. Surgery is also performed at Griffin Hospital where James R. Pinke, M.D. is Chief of Ophthalmology.

Our three on-site lasers

Are used in numerous procedures for glaucoma, retinal problems and post cataract surgery membranes. We also were one of the first centers in Connecticut to have a state-of-the art SLT laser designed especially for treating glaucoma. This laser has allowed many patients to reduce or eliminate glaucoma drops, and is also used as primary treatment for appropriate patients, who would like to avoid starting glaucoma drops.

Many Minor surgical procedures

Such as removal of skin lesions and cosmetic or non-cosmetic eyelid plastic surgery are performed in our modern office operating room.

Complex retinal surgery

Is referred to our retinal affiliates, who perform state of the art care for these difficult problems.

Our full-service Medical Optical Department

Not only offers convenience, but the latest eyeglass and contact lens styles, too! Our highly skilled Optician is available to answer all of your questions, adjust your frames or help you with your contact lenses — even if you’re not currently a patient. We are also happy to fill prescriptions from other eye doctors’ offices.
