After cataract surgery, you don’t have to settle for monofocal lenses. Now you can improve your vision,* near and far, with multifocal and accommodating lenses. All three brands are different, suited to the unique visual needs of each patient. That’s why Dr. Pinke is specially trained in the use of all three types of implants.
How do Multifocal Lenses work?
ReSTOR and ReZoom lenses replace the natural lens with designs that use diffraction and refraction and apodization technology. Apodization gives the lens the ability to focus light correctly on the retina, from a variety of distances, without a mechanical movement of the lens. Crystalens® works by automatically moving in the eye to focus distance and near images. They are all designed to help free patients from relying on eyeglasses, most or all of the time.

What will happen during surgery?

The natural lens is removed via an incision so small, it seals itself without the need for stiches. The cataract lens is gently removed using a delicate micro-surgical technique, called phacoemulsification. The permanent intra-ocular lens implant is gently inserted in place of the cataract that was removed. The procedure is fast, with virtually no discomfort, and vision is generally improved almost immediately. Most patients are thrilled with their dramatically improved ability to see near and far without glasses.*

Should I consider ReSTOR®, ReZoom™ or Crystalens® Multifocal Lenses?

IMPORTANT NOTICE: A new Medicare ruling now allows you to benefit from these deluxe implants. Your standard cataract surgery with monofocal lens insertion is covered by Medicare, we can provide superior multifocal lenses, and you only pay the difference.
Are you struggling to read or see close objects?
Are you having difficulty with glare while driving?
Do you have blurred distance vision?
Then ReStor®, ReZoom or CrystalLens® lenses may be right for you.

Most people with cataracts and otherwise healthy eyes can benefit from Multifocal Lenses. Multifocal lenses can also be used to correct refractive errors in patients who have not yet developed significant cataracts. You may also be able to have Multifocal Lenses even if you've had prior refractive surgery.
